One of the features that stands out in Ubuntu Phone is the sidebar launcher that is able to appear anywhere you want it. From here you can launch your favorite apps without having to search through all the software that you have installed on your system. Since the official announcement many developers have tried to mimic the features of the Ubuntu OS into implementations for Android. Some of the best implementations we’ve already shown you and we have another that works great. Ubuntu Phone Experience places the custom bar of the upcoming OS at the tip of your finger. This is done without the usual disadvantages that come with this kind of implementations.
Ubuntu Phone Experience is an Ubuntu launcher for Android which will place the stock left side bar that comes with Ubuntu Phone at your disposal. Here you can place your favorite shortcuts to the apps you most frequently use. Swiping from the left side will show the bar and once you release your finger it automatically closes. Holding and dragging your finger across the bar will reveal animations that display the app’s name. From here you can launch each one you feel like it. The launcher is highly customisable and provides 4 icon themes by default. You can set the one you like and also adjust the gesture zone from where you drag the launcher. Changing the bar density and reordering the apps are some other features you can customize with ease. Overall it works and feel great.
