Heads up, Samsung Galaxy S3 owners who are subscribers to Verizon’s network - the mobile carrier will finally ready the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3 smartphone, making it the last of the big four (the rest being AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile) in the US who have already updated their respective Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphones to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. You know the saying, better late than never!
If you are a (still) proud owner of the Samsung Galaxy S3 while being subscribed to Verizon Wireless’ network, then a wee bit more patience is required of you. It seems that Verizon has already given the nod of approval for an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean build for the smartphone, and has even provided details of the upgrade in a PDF file which you can access here.
There are whispers on the ground that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Verizon Galaxy S3 will be making its way to smartphones from December 14th onwards, which would make for a decent Christmas present by the folks over at Verizon Wireless.
Apparently, this particular update would come in a 64MB package, and since it is not exactly bite-sized, we would like to recommend that you leave your Galaxy S3 plugged to a power outlet, and to save you more money (to spend on other Christmas presents, of course), why not fall back on your home’s Wi-Fi connection to retrieve all 64MB of it, to reduce the risk of running up high data transfer fees unknowingly? Of course, this bit of advice does not apply to those who already have an “unlimited” data plan.
Of course, eventually, the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update will be making its way to the Samsung Galaxy S3 as well, which means there will be more waiting in store. Hopefully this time around, Verizon will not be as slow as T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint to get that version released when it happens.
